On September 11, Kapuso star and first brand ambassador for Magnifique White, Shaira Diaz, remarked how happy she was for David Licauco’s success with the BarDa (Barbie Forteza and David Licauco) love team.
At the media launch for ‘Magnifique White,’ which LionhearTV covered, Diaz supported Licauco’s success, recounting how the Kapuso artist almost did not accept his role in ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra.’
“Happy ako para sa kaniya. Super happy ako na sobrang successful niya. Kasi natatandaan ko ‘yung time na pinag-iisipan niya kung tatanggapin niya ‘yung Maria Clara at Ibarra. Kami po ‘yung magkatrabaho noon. During Without You po, during ng filming ng movie namin na Without You.
“Nagkukwento siya sa akin na hindi nga daw niya alam kung tatanggapin niya ‘yung Maria Clara at Ibarra kasi nga, super busy siya sa newly opened business niya at that time. And then ‘yun na nga, parang ayaw na niyang mag-artista kasi di niya pinangarap.”
She also cited that Licauco deserved his success, noting how hardworking the Kapuso star was with his career.
“Pero biglang, ‘Boom.’ Sabi ko, wow, parang napapanood ko ‘to, parang kapag napapanood ko siya, dati sabi lang nito na parang ayaw na niyang mag-artista kasi nga ang layo ng Ilocos nga di ba? Pero ito, binigay nga sa kaniya, deserving naman siya kasi very hardworking siya. And noong nagfi-film kami ng Without You noon, nakita ko ‘yung improvement niya and the way niya naral ‘yung mga eksena doon.”
She then discussed the possibility of working with Licauco again after their movie, ‘Without You.’
“Oo naman, kung mabibigyan ng opportunity, why not.
“Parang na-ano ko nanaman kasi noong film, ‘yung nag-showing ‘yung Without You, ang hindi kasi nila alam, naunang gawin ‘yung Without You, pero naka-set siya na Valentines siya ipapalabas. Tapos hindi nila inaasahan na magpi-peak ‘yung BarDa, sila ni Barbie.”
