Manny Castañeda forewarns GABRIELA Women’s Party after its controversial statements towards the approaching Miss Universe pageant in the country.
On his Facebook profile, the actor-director warns GABRIELA not to anger the gay community. He also said that the party-list can denounce President Duterte, Bongbong Marcos and anyone else except Miss Universe.

Babala sa GABRIELA.
Huwag na huwag ninyong gagalitin ang mga beki! Huwag! Laitin n’yo na si Duterte, Marcos at kung sino-sino pa, pero huwag ang … Miss Universe! Alalahanin ninyo, sa kanila nakasalalay ang inyong buhok, mukha at pananamit. Kung hindi ninyo gustong magmukhang mga manananggal habangbuhay, huwag ninyong paiinitin ang kanilang ulo. Wala kayong kalabanlaban. Sure ako d’yan.
The said post was made after GABRIELA representative Arlene Brosas condemned the pageant and called it ‘deceptive’ and ‘manipulative.’
GABRIELA also previously protested against the Philippines’ hosting of the pageant in 1994. The party-list is set to launch a protest against the country’s hosting of the Miss Universe on January 30.
