On August 23, actresses Dolly De Leon and Kathryn Bernardo talked about what success means for them.
At the media conference for ‘A Very Good Girl,’ which LionhearTV covered, De Leon said that she measures success through a sense of well-being and inner peace.
“I think success is not [measured] by money, it’s not [measured] by position, it’s not [measured] by power. Success is measured ones own sense of well-being and inner peace.”
She then noted that the best kind of revenge is success.
“To build on what Kath said, [it’s] also how you handle, kung paano ka gumanti, I think the best revenge is success. Just keep doing your own thing. Let all the lies happen around you. Just be the best person [that] you can be, and one day you’ll reap the rewards and you’ll become successful, ‘yun na ‘yung paghihiganti mo.”
As for Bernardo, she noted the importance of being successful without stepping on other people.
“Pero important na at the end of the day, when you become successful, ma-achieve mo lahat ng gusto mo without stepping on other people’s shoes.”
She also remarked that success for her is doing things that make her happy.
‘So kailangan maging mabuting tao ka pa rin at the end of the day, kasi ang success iba-iba naman tayo ng definition niyan. Pero ako, personally, success is doing something that make you happy.Â
“Uuwi ako, yes, napagod ako, ina-acknowledge ko ‘yun. Yes, uuwi ako, na-test ‘yung patience ko, napikon ako today, pero masaya ako. So for me, ‘yun ang definition ng pagiging successful. I get to do the things that make me happy.”
‘A Very Good Girl‘ stars Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly De Leon as a mother-daughter duo.
The Star Cinema film features Kaori Oinuma, Chie Filomeno, Gillian Vicencio, and Jake Ejercito.
