Following her recent fallout with her former glam team, Heart Evangelista shared her thoughts on friendship breakups, likening them to someone stealing her personal diary filled with her innermost thoughts and feelings.
The actress and fashion personality opened up about why she finds friendship breakups more painful than romantic breakups during a YouTube vlog with her husband, Senator , on August 21.
In the vlog, which explores themes of love, marriage, friendship, and dealing with heartbreak, Evangelista revealed, “Ako, parang mas nasaktan ako sa friendship [breakups].”
She elaborated on this by explaining her attachment to her friends due to her sense of being an outsider and often feeling misunderstood. “Kahit sa past ko, I’m always very clingy to my friends because I don’t have a lot of friends,” she said.
However, she acknowledged that she may have made a mistake by not seeking support from her husband when she needed it. She treats her friends like family, showing them both her good and bad sides because she’s confident that they’ve seen her heart first.
“It’s painful because it’s like I wrote all my thoughts in a diary, and they just stole it,” Evangelista lamented. “For me, friendships are hard.”
Despite her painful experiences, Evangelista stated that she doesn’t believe in outgrowing people and emphasized that friendships and romantic relationships can work with proper communication.
“But even the relatives I don’t talk to or friends that I don’t talk to, I’ll always love them,” she said. “I think, again, I go back to maybe I’m a lemon or maybe I’m stupid, but I refuse to see the bad times especially if they weren’t a lot. I will stick and fight for the good memories that I have.”
When asked how she deals with betrayal by friends, Evangelista admitted, “I don’t even have an answer to that. I’m still in the process of it all. I’m just living, as we speak.”
In the vlog, Evangelista and Escudero also briefly touched on the difficulties they recently faced in their marriage. While they didn’t provide specifics, Evangelista referred to it as a “crime” she couldn’t pinpoint. However, the couple chose not to disclose the details behind this challenge.
Despite their recent struggles, Evangelista expressed her deep love and gratitude for her husband, emphasizing that she can’t live without him. Senator Escudero also expressed his unwavering commitment to their marriage.
“I hated you for the wrong reasons,” Evangelista told her husband. “I think I looked at you as the enemy when you were actually my guardian angel the whole time. In the end, you’re still here. So, wow.”
Evangelista then became emotional as she prayed for forgiveness for her past actions, saying that she didn’t understand things and reacted abruptly at times. Her primary prayer now is to protect her family’s health and well-being.
“My number one prayer is that take everything away, just don’t take my family away,” she said, emphasizing the importance of family.
