On July 31, artist BJ ‘Tolits’ Forbes addressed whether he would join ‘Eat Bulaga’ or ‘E.A.T.’
At the media conference for ‘The Special Gift,’ which LionhearTV covered, Forbes remarked that he would be open to accepting any offer from either of the two noontime shows.
“Kung bibigyan po ng pagkakataon, of course, opo, opo. Kahit saan po doon.
“Kahit saan po doon, sige lang po, basta mabibigyan ng pagkakataon.”
He then clarified that he does respect Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon.
“Pero siyempre po, katulad sa mga nakaraang interview ko po, I have a respect for TVJ, and also for TAPE Inc. Parehas po may mga naiwan pa rin po akong mga kapamilya–pamilya namin sa Eat Bulaga na nandoon pa rin po sa Eat Bulaga ngayon.”
Forbes joined the ‘EatBulaga’ segment, That’s My Boy, in 2003. He then gained popularity after a commercial advertisement. He then became a part of the noontime show in 2005.
He became a prominent child star in various Kapuso projects, including ‘Mulawin,’ ‘Etheria,’ and ‘Fantastikids.’ He was also part of the Enteng Kabisote franchise with Vic Sotto.
However, due to a financial scam, which cost him all of his savings as a child star, Forbes became depressed and stepped out of the limelight.
He then asserted that he would accept any offer that would give him a job.
“So kung sino man po magbigay, okay lang po. Hindi naman po ako kasama doon sa issue eh. So hindi po ako para makisali. ‘Yung respeto at pagmamahal nandoon po. Pero kung saan po may trabaho, go po ako. ‘Yun po.”
Earlier, Forbes emotionally detailed his struggles as a father after the hospitalization of his daughter Janella who experienced a stroke after a seizure.
As for their upcoming film, the RCGomez Entertainment film stars Franchesco Maafi, Soliman Cruz, Migui Moreno, Mike Lloren, Malou Canzana, Romina Cauilan, Ella Sheen, Angelo Gomez, and BJ ‘Tolits’ Forbes.
Produced by Roy Gomez and directed by Lawrence Roxas, ‘The Special Gift’ opens in cinemas soon.
