On June 27, Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco clarified Vanessa Hudgens’ involvement in the campaign ‘Love The Philippines.’
At the media event ‘Love The Philippines’ campaign, which LionhearTV covered, Frasco first thanked Hudgens for her partnership in globally promoting tourism in the Philippines.
“Love The Philippines is/ represented in the face, the heart, the mind, and the soul of 113 million Filipinos and the diaspora of 12 million Filipinos [all over the world.] Vanessa Hudgens is one of them. And we are grateful for the partnership with the Philippines by supporting us towards 50 million followers.”
However, she clarified that the ‘Love The Philippines’ campaign isn’t exclusive to one ambassador.
“But certainly, Love The Philippines is not exclusive, and it is a tourism campaign, a call to action to every Filipinos to express their love to the Philippines. And it’s our love letter to the world, and it’s a reminder of how much the world can gain from loving us back.”
She also considered the ‘Love The Philippines’ campaign a call to action for Filipinos.
“What you can expect is that the call to action to Love the Philippines, will continue in every region, every province, every city and municipality in the Philippines and the jurisdiction where the DOT has a presence and would like to have a presence all over the world.”
In March 2023, Pres Marcos Jr granted the title of Global Tourism Ambassador to Hudgens to help promote Philippine tourism and raise the country’s global status.
As for the ‘Love The Philippines’ campaign, Frasco, alongside President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., unveiled the tourism campaign to celebrate the 50th-year founding anniversary of the Department of Tourism (DOT) at the Manila Hotel on Tuesday (June 27).
