On ‘The Boobay and Tekla Show’ episode aired last June 25, Paolo Contis was invited as a guest and it was revealed that he helped the comedians during the pandemic.
In the episode, the comedians Boobay and Tekla hosted their first segment with Contis reacting to his bashers.
Tekla asked Contis if bashers’ statements had an effect on him. The actor-host answered that he does not mind the below-the-belt comments that he receives as long as they do not affect the people in his life.
Boobay then joined in and revealed an experience he had with Contis.
“Ako naman, alam ko ayaw ni Paolo i-share ko ‘to pero gusto ko na lang i-share sa inyo. Alam n’yo ba nu’ng panahon ng pandemic, hindi tayo makalabas-labas lahat, wala kameng makain sa condo. Si Paolo Contis personal pong pumunta dun sa condo, binigyan n’ya kame ng pagkain,” the comedian shared.
Tekla also reminisced the time he received help from Contis. “Tsaka pinautang ako ni Kuya Pao nu’ng pandemic,” he shared.
However, this act of generosity was not enough for the bashers and they continued to use this exchange as an ammunition against the actor-host.
“Feed your children first paolo. charity begins at home,” one comment reads.
“Realtalk naman talaga kaya mong gawin sa ibang tao pero sa sarili mong anak hindi. Not just 1 but 3. Kaya wag nyo nang ipagtanggol yung negatron nyang pag uugali,” another user commented.
“Nakakapagbigay sa iba, pero sa sariling mga anak, di makapag-sustento #justsaying 
,” another comment reads.
The ‘child support’ issue against Contis has been making rounds on social media as it resurfaced when he became one of the hosts of the revamped ‘Eat Bulaga!’
Lian Paz, his ex-wife, revealed in an interview with PEP.ph that Contis did not provide any financial aid for his children with her. This was also the case for his daughter with LJ Reyes.
Contis also admitted to this fact in his interview with Boy Abunda which aired last January 2023. He told Abunda that he had his reasons for not being able to give sufficient support for his children. However, he also made a public declaration that he was currently saving money to give to his daughters in the future.
“I had my reasons pero kung ano pa, anong point? I don’t want to argue about it anymore. Ayoko na s’yang lumaki. It’s a mistake na nasimulan ko ever since before na hindi ako nakapagbigay but ever since nagtrabaho ako nang maayos, unti-unti akong naglalagay ng sa account para kay Xonia, kay Xalene, pati kay Summer, which eventually, I want to give it to them straight,” he said in the interview.
