On June 25, Alex Gonzaga posted a dance video featuring her and Herlene Budol dancing to Toni Fowler’s ‘M.N.M.’
The two twerked and danced wearing revealing one-piece clothing with Gonzaga even using paddings to imitate Fowler’s body.
This post earned many laughing comments from netizens and fellow stars alike. “Omg what is going on 😂😂😂😂,” @winniewong commented.
But the comment that struck the netizens more was from Gonzaga’s husband Mikee Morada. Morada commented “😒😒😒” indicating his unamused reaction to Gonzaga’s dance video.
The actress responded to her husband’s comment with, “@mikee_mo buti wala pa tayo divorce sa Pilipinas 😂”
The married couple started their relationship through their connection with veteran actor Piolo Pascual.
Morada, a friend of Pascual, continuously asked the actor to introduce him to Gonzaga. In a dressing room at ABS-CBN, Pascual told the actress about Morada’s interest in her. However, Gonzaga had a suitor at the time so the actress asked to be introduced to Pascual’s friend if her relationship with her suitor did not work.
The two were eventually introduced to each other by Pascual after a few months, and that sparked the beginning of their relationship. After their meeting, Morada courted Gonzaga for seven months.
On November 13, 2016, the actress made their relationship public after posting a picture with her sister Toni Gonzaga along with Paul Soriano and Vice Ganda with the caption, “Not a third or fifth wheel anymore 🙈 #Thisisit.”
The two went on being open to the public about their relationship, occasionally posting their photos and moments together.
On December 25, 2016, Morada and Gonzaga spent Christmas at the Gonzaga home.
The two had their first TV guesting together in January 2017 on ABS-CBN’s ‘Magandang Buhay’ where Morada revealed the reason for her initial interest in the actress and admitted to asking Pascual for an introduction.
“Lagi ko s’yang tinitignan sa Instagram, feeling ko parang makakasundo ko s’ya so lagi kong sinasabi, ‘pare pakilala mo naman ako’,” the non-showbiz boyfriend claimed.
The two talked more about their courting stage and their relationship on the show.
In September 2018, the two had their second show guesting on ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’ where Morada revealed that he was ready to settle down with the actress.
“Sana sa tamang panahon, umabot din sa kung saan dapat mapunta…sa samahang walang katapusan,” Morada said.
At the ABS-CBN Ball 2018 on the same month, Gonzaga strikingly appeared with Morada. She posted the moment with the caption, “The only one i’ll be happy to be with me on a red carpet. Thank you for coming with me ❤️ #abscbnball2018 @magicliwanag”
The couple later on marked their third anniversary on October 31, 2019 with an anniversary vlog on Gonzaga’s YouTube channel.
In December of 2019, Morada finally proposed to Gonzaga on their trip to Hong Kong with her family. This was made public on a January 2020 vlog. Their engagement was announced in January 2020 on Gonzaga’s birthday post where she was noticeably wearing a ring.
In November 2020, the couple got married at the Gonzaga home in Taytay, Rizal. The wedding was intimate as only family and close friends were present.
On their first wedding anniversary, Gonzaga posted on Instagram a wedding photo of them with the caption, “One year happily married with you my papamelly and i’m so thankful you showed up that day! 🤍😅”
The two went on to have a happy married life. In October 2021, though, netizens were met with the news that Gonzaga suffered a miscarriage due to an anembryonic pregnancy.
Gonzaga shared their grief and their story on social media. Despite the adversity, Gonzaga shared that they will be ready for the time they will be blessed with another child.
