A stronger and broader TV5 is coming in the face of the much-anticipated noontime shakeup.
The Kapatid network is currently in the process of upgrading its transmission towers in order to enhance its program offerings, especially the upcoming show featuring the OG hosts of ‘Eat Bulaga!’ Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, also known as TVJ.
Through its parent company, MediaQuest, TV5 aims to expand its coverage in various locations, including Olongapo City, Zambales, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Baguio City, and Mountain Province. These are areas where viewers have faced difficulties accessing the programs on TV5.
In June, TV5 activated new transmission towers in Kalibo, Aklan; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. In addition, it has observed improvements in coverage in Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras. The cities of Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and General Santos have also experienced enhanced coverage. Signal quality has been improved in Quezon City; Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Capas, Tarlac; Naga City, Camarines Sur; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; and certain areas of Batangas province.
According to TV5, these expansion efforts will enable them to reach nearly 18.5 million individuals residing in over 4.5 million Philippine households by August 2023.
In a statement, TV5 President Guido Zaballero expressed the company’s objective of reaching a broader audience and delivering top-notch content across all platforms. He mentioned that these ongoing enhancements would allow more families to enjoy the premium viewing experience offered by TV5.
“Our goal is to reach more viewers and provide the best content on all platforms. Because of these continuing enhancements, more families will be able to enjoy the premium viewing experience that we offer on TV5.”
MediaQuest has recently signed a deal with TVJ to air a new noontime show following their resignation from TAPE Inc.
Currently, TV5 airs mostly blocktime shows from ABS-CBN like its primetime bida lineup ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ ‘The Iron Heart,’ and ‘Dirty Linen.’ Its morning and afternoon blocks, meanwhile, are occupied by ‘Magandang Buhay’ and ‘It’s Showtime.’
Its weekend lineup includes ‘It’s Showtime,’ ‘ASAP Natin ‘To,’ ‘FPJ Da King,’ and ‘Rated Korina.’
