A hit tweet from netizen @kapusoleague_ made the rounds on Twitter on June 2. It has been announced that Julia Barretto and Alden Richards would team up for an upcoming movie.
The tweet also mentioned that the movie the two will star in is Richards’ postponed movie with acting veteran Bea Alonzo, ‘A Special Memory’.
The movie in question is the upcoming adaptation of the 2004 melodramatic Korean film, ‘A Moment to Remember’. This film follows the love story of a woman diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease starring Jung Woo-sung and Son Ye-Jin.
After announcing Richards and Alonzo’s collaboration on the project on December 2020, the awaited movie was postponed after Alonzo’s sudden announcement.
Alonzo’s management released a statement in May 2023 that the actress would have to back down from the movie project. This is after experiencing schedule conflicts with her other ongoing projects.
In the show, Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Alonzo’s management said they are prioritizing their contractual obligations with GMA Network. In addition, the actress stated that she did not want to make the production team wait for her while she attended to other projects on her schedule.
A new production date and release date were set for Alonzo’s part in the movie project.
However, there is no official confirmation yet from GMA Network, Viva Films, and APT Entertainment about Barretto being cast for Alonzo’s role.
