In an Instagram post on May 29, the Megastar Sharon Cuneta found herself in a heated exchange of thoughts with a netizen who accused her of being ‘sipsip’ (bootlicker) toward actor Coco Martin.
The incident unfolded when Cuneta shared a photo of Martin along with Kapamilya actress Julia Montes.
Cuneta’s post expressed her love and support for the two, celebrating happiness and acknowledging the strong bond between Montes and Martin.
She began by expressing her love for the two, saying, “Umamin na ang mga anak ko yaayyy!! Happy si Mommy ‘mysha!🥰🥰🥰…,” (mentioning Montes and Martin).
She also touched on her “personal” connection with Martin, forged through their work together on the television series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2021. Cuneta emphasized her loyalty and protective nature toward her friends, affirming that it would not waver.
“Whatever they may have gone through together, well, it all seems to have been for the best because they are so good to and for each other…
“…I love them both very much – and no matter what, my friends know that I am protective and loyal and supportive – and that certainly will not change!…” She added.

However, in the comment section, a netizen took a swipe at Cuneta, suggesting that she was trying to gain a role in the TV drama Batang Quiapo by being ‘sipsip’ to Martin.
“Ok sige.. sipsip pa more baka sakaling isama ka ni Coco sa Batang Quiapo 😂,” Netizen commented.
She promptly defended herself, clarifying that she did not need to rely on anyone to secure projects as she currently had ongoing commitments and is busy with her work. She also asserted that she was initially invited to join Ang Probinsyano by the show’s producers.
“… Sa ‘Ang Probinsyano’ ako yung inimbita, di ako yung nagpresenta… Dalawa parating kong teleserye at may movies ako… Sa lahat ng nakakainis sa aming mga artista yung wala nang alam bastos pa.” Cuneta said.
Despite the online word exchange, Cuneta’s illustrious career in acting and singing speaks for itself. She has continuously faced life’s challenges with resilience and remained a positive role model for many.
With her recent project, the movie The Mango Bride, released on April 28, and upcoming ventures such as three Filipino movies, a Hollywood series, and concerts later this year, Cuneta continues to captivate audiences and excite her devoted fans.
