The delay got caused by a technical difficulty, which made FPJ’s Batang Quiapo miss its expected 8:00 pm starting time.
Avid Kapamilya fans who initially thought they missed their favorite primetime shows got surprised at last night’s (May 15) episode, when they found out they were a lot earlier.
Thanks to a technical issue that did not allow FPJ’s Batang Quiapo to start airing on time, the rest of the ABS-CBN primetime lineup adjusted to a much later time slot.
“Kararating ko kang bahay at nagmamadaling umali kasi nga male-late na ako sa #DirtyLinen only to find out na kasisimuka pa lang ng #TheIronHeart. Overtime ang #BatangQuiapo?,” said Yanyan, who got both delighted and shocked that she did not miss her favorite show, Dirty Linen.
The Janine Gutierrez-starrer usually airs on the 9:30 pm time slot, but it went on air at around 10:15 pm, last night.

Earlier, viewers of the newscast TV Patrol, were already wondering why the show was still on air even though it was past 8:00 pm. It got followed by teaser plugs by various Kapamilya and Kapatid shows.
“Yong akala q nagloloko channel ko.. now lang tlga nag start ang #BatangQuiapo,” tweeted Xyric.

Berbs, meanwhile, shared that his father was already beginning to get annoyed by the delay in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’s airing.
“INIS NA INIS NA TATAY KO DAHIL DI PA NAGSISIMULA #BATANGQUIAPO anyare @ABSCBN???,” he tweeted.

Kapamilya viewers who were waiting for Richard Gutierrez’s The Iron Heart, also got confused about the delay in their favorite show’s airing.
“Grabe super late Ang #TheIronHeart #TOHApollo5,” lamented @TeamMajaChard.

Due to these comments, #BatangQuiapo, #TheIronHeart, #DirtyLinen, #JanineGutierrez, and other related topics, became trending topics in the Philippines.
It’s interesting to notice, however, that even though FPJ’s Batang Quiapo started late, its online concurrent viewership remained strong, and 10 times higher than its rival show–Voltes V Legacy, 291,000 versus 22,000. The Iron Heart and Dirty Linen similarly posted impressive figures, proving the three shows have established loyal audiences who do not care about their favorite shows’ time slots.
