On May 12, ‘Video City’ stars Ruru Madrid and Yassi Pressman recalled their experiences visiting the beloved movie rental hub when they were young.
At the story conference for the upcoming Viva Films and GMA Pictures collaboration, which LionhearTV covered, Pressman detailed some of her childhood memories, including a trip to a “Video City” store.
So it’s very nostalgic po for me rin po.”
She also fondly recounted how she rewinds VHS tapes with her dad.
Ruru Madrid narrated his experience renting films with his cousins from the movie rental store.
And then, babalik kami sa bahay niya and then lahat kami doon manonood. Tapos, maghihiraman pa ‘yun. Like, pwede mo siyang i-rent ng three days, tapos ‘wag lang lalagpas kasi may penalty na ‘yun.”
He noted the difference between renting and streaming movies online.
He recalled, “…parang nakaka-miss ‘yung ganiyang panahon kasi mayroon kayong quality time talaga, and hindi lang basta mag-stream ka online.
‘Video City’ is a co-production between Viva Films and GMA Pictures, starring Madrid and Pressman.
The story follows ‘Han’ (Madrid), who travels back in time and arrives in 1995, meeting ‘Ningning’ (Pressman), a store staff of ‘Video City’.
Raynier Brizuela’s ‘Video City’ starts filming soon.
