JR De Guzman, a Filipino comedian and musician, has achieved numerous milestones in his career. These include the success of his viral song ‘Interracial Baby,’ which he shared the story behind during his May 3rd interview for his upcoming show in Manila.
De Guzman said, “’Interracial babies’ is probably one of my viral songs because many people have interracial kids in general, as there are many mixed babies out there.”
He shared, “I wrote that song in Sacramento at my home comedy club, Laughs Unlimited. Jennifer Canfield, the owner, celebrated her birthday, so I wrote the song as a gift for her and her half-black, half-white child. It was initially a gift for her, but somehow it became a gift for me as well because it became my most viral song.”
The song, ‘Interracial Baby,’ currently has 24 thousand plays on Spotify and over 200 thousand views on YouTube. It has garnered positive comments from the online community, particularly from the mixed-race community.
Following his successful US Tour, JR De Guzman is set to perform again in the Philippines for ‘Later That Evening. This is part of his Asia Tour on June 3rd. Filipino comedians Red Ollero and Ryan Puno will open for him.
