Kapuso star Mikee Quintos finally opened up about her viral ‘thesis issue’ where she got accused of not helping her thesis mates.
In GMA Network’s Sarap, ‘Di Ba? episode on April 27, Quintos admitted and explained that the thesis was an individual work.
“Ito po kasi ‘yung biggest misconception. People think that architecture thesis is a group work, it’s not po. It’s individual. So medyo po nagkaroon ng ganoong issue na hindi po ako gumagawa ng group work,” she said.
Back in 2021, Quintos was involved in a controversy after a netizen’s post about her celebrity thesis mate not helping in their group went viral.
Netizens pointed their finger at Quintos for leaving her thesis mates to work to themselves.
The actress then admitted that the controversy affected her mental health.
“Because of that incident din medyo naapektuhan po ang aking mental health.
“Because of that experience also I realized na ‘yung pag-aaral, ‘yung pagpapatapos ng school, I shouldn’t do it for anyone else. I should do it for myself. Now that I am doing it for myself, my grades are better,” she said.
Paul Salas, Quintos’s boyfriend, then shared how hardworking his girlfriend is toward her studies.
“Proud ako dito kay Mikee kasi habang nagti-taping kami may mabigat siyang eksena. After dinner, nakikipag-usap siya sa mga prof niya kung ano ang gagawin niya. Sinasabay niya talaga.
“Kita ko ‘yung hard work niya. Sabi ko kahit ano’ng sabihin ng iba, ituloy niya lang,” he said.
Quintos studied architecture at the University of Santo Tomas. She currently stars in the Kapuso fantasy series The Write One.
