Kapuso host-comedian Boobay stunned viewers after experiencing a medical emergency during his interview with Boy Abunda.
On Thursday, April 20, Boobay made an appearance on the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Abunda to talk about his career following his recent Best Supporting Actor wins at the Saskatchewan International Film Festival (SIFF) in Canada for the film Broken Blooms.
While Abunda was interviewing him, the comedian suddenly went blank and had trouble speaking.

It happened during the first part of the program when Abunda was asking Boobay about the time he first auditioned for GMA Network. The King of Talk asked the Kapuso comedian to recall the time when he was commended for the audition tape he sent to GMA Network.
Boobay was one of the top 15 finalists in the 2004 GMA Network comedian talent search, KiliTV Comedy Hunt.
“How was that feeling? Take me back to that moment nung ika’y sinabihan na mahusay ka and you’re one of the finalists. Anong sinabi mo noon? Naniwala ka ba?” Abunda asked.
Instead of answering, Boobay just nodded and stared blankly at Abunda. Initially, Abunda thought that Boobay just got emotional, which is why he could not answer immediately, so he asked him if he was okay.
“You’re okay, Boobay? Are you okay?.”
But after repeatedly asking the comedian and not getting an answer, Abunda stood beside him and realized that the latter was experiencing a medical emergency. Abunda then called for a commercial break to attend to Boobay.

After the break, the interview resumed when Boobay confirmed he was feeling better. He then shared that he experienced the same while taping The Boobay and Tekla Show on the previous day.
“Tito Boy, I am okay. Ito yung pagkakataon kahapon nagte-taping kami bigla akong medyo nag-hang habang kami ay nagsu-shoot ng The Boobay and Tekla Show. Siguro dahil sa ilaw at the same time, medyo siguro konti pa lang yung tulog ko na maling-mali sa ginawa ko.
“Dapat kailangan talaga bago ka pumunta sa isang trabaho, huwag kang kukuha ng ibang trabaho para kahit papaano, mailagay mo yung katawan mo sa maayos.
He also got advice from his doctor that he would experience occasional silent seizures–as an effect of this stroke in 2016.
“Pero sinabi naman sa akin ng doktor before na mangyayari talaga sa akin after nung nangyari sa akin before noong naospital ako. After daw nun, maaaring mag-hang ako.
“The best thing that you have to do is just keep it, mag-stop ka lang until hayaan mong bumalik sa dati.”
