During the press conference for his solo debut film ‘Papa Mascot’ on April 10 in Quezon City, Kapuso star Ken Chan admits he sacrificed his love for past co-star Rita Daniela for his dreams.
In 2020, the movie ‘Mano Po Legacy’ paired Ken Chan with Bianca Umali. This left many fans wondering about his partnership with Rita Daniela. The so-called “RitKen” tandem had gained a strong following among Filipino viewers, who were unhappy to see them part ways.
Chan revealed, “Before we did our previous soap opera ‘Ang Dalawang Ikaw,’ GMA 7 already told us that it might be our last one together.”
In an interview with Boy Abunda last February, Ken Chan admitted to having a misunderstanding with Rita Daniela upon splitting up. Rita and he remain friends, he said.
Chan and Daniela were co-stars in various GMA programs, especially ‘My Special Tatay’.
Ken Chan’s solo debut film Papa Mascot, directed by Louie Ignacio, opens in Philippine theaters on April 26.
