Tomorrow (April 2), re-electionist Sen. Loren Legarda, former Rep. Christian Señeres, and Ang Kapatiran bet Rizalito David debate on the hottest national issues and their plans for the country. Legarda, the strongest contender of Team PNoy, has been the topnotcher in all senatorial surveys, while Señeres and David have significantly been lagging behind administration and opposition candidates.
Legarda is the only female senator to have topped two consecutive senatorial elections and has proven herself as a legislator by pushing for measures for the environment and women.
Aware that the senatorial race has been centered around the more popular candidates, Señeres is determined to prove to voters his accomplishments and skills. What legislations did he push for during his two terms as the youngest representative? How will he convince voters to vote for him?
Radio commentator and political analyst David, meanwhile, wants to promote moral values and Catholic teachings in the Senate if he grabs a spot in the Top 12. An advocate for good governance, he wants political dynasties and the pork barrel system abolished.
Other senatorial candidates who have been guests in “Harapan 2013” include Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Democratic Party’s Baldomero Falcone, Bam Aquino, Sen. Chiz Escudero, former Rep. Cynthia Villar, Bro. Eddie Villanueva, Puerto Princesa mayor Edward Hagedorn, former Sen. Ernesto Maceda, Greco Belgica, Sen. Gringo Honasan, Ang Kapatiran’s Atty. Marwil Llasos, former Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, Rep. Mitos Magsaysay, Rep. Teddy Casiño, former Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr., former Sen. Richard Gordon, former Rep. Risa Hontiveros, and businessman Ricardo Penson.
