Kapuso host Shaira Diaz has now joined the league of Kris Aquino, Anne Curtis, and Claudine Barreto, who all made live TV blunders.
In the March 17 episode of GMA Network’s morning show ‘Unang Hirit’, Diaz made a hilarious faux pas after introducing their live guest, singer-songwriter Jason Marvin.
Marvin was invited to the morning show to promote his latest single, ‘Oras’ which is the theme song of the latest Kapuso late-night fantasy-drama series, ‘The Write One’.
After introducing their guest, Diaz and her co-host Kaloy Tingcungco were about to exit the stage.
However, before they exit the stage, Diaz accidentally slipped on the platform and blurted out “Ay bakla.” She, however, quickly said “Sorry” after regaining her composure and continued to exit the stage.

Diaz began hosting ‘Unang Hirit’ in 2021.
In an interview with Lhar Santiago in February 2023, Diaz admitted that she never imagined joining ‘Unang Hirit’ because she’s not fond of waking up early. She shared, “Hindi ko inakala. Before, nag-promo ako roon ng isang serye and then sabi ko, ‘Never na talaga akong magpo-promote doon sa Unang Hirit kasi sobrang aga, hindi ko kayang gumising.”
But as time passed by, she learned to love the job and is currently happy working with the ‘Unang Hirit’ family. She even joked about leaving her acting career to just concentrate on hosting.
“I’m sobrang happy to the point na minsan naiisip ko, mag-hosting na lang kaya ako, huwag na kaya akong umarte. May mga gano’n akong thoughts. Of course hindi naman ako nagsasalita ng tapos pero as of now, sobrang happy ako sa tiwalang binigay sa akin ng Unang Hirit family,” Diaz quipped.
Diaz’s last teledrama project was the Kapuso action-fantasy series ‘Lolong’ in 2022, alongside Ruru Madrid.
