Golden Globe Award nominee Dolly de Leon is set to star in another international film, ‘Grand Death Lotto.’
According to a report by the entertainment website Deadline on Wednesday, March 22, the Filipina actress will join the cast of the upcoming action-comedy film led by Hollywood stars John Cena, Simu Liu, and Awkwafina and directed by ‘Bridesmaids’ director Paul Feig.
Also included as supporting cast members are Ayden Mayeri, Seann William Scott, and Donald Elise Watkins.
An Amazon original film, Grand Death Lotto, set in very near future California, tells the story of Katie (Awkwafina), a grand lotto winner. However, based on the current lottery rules, the prize can be claimed by anyone if they can kill the winner before nightfall.
Noel (John Cena) and Louis (Simu Liu) will fight to protect Katie to get the protection commission.
This is De Leon’s second big role in Hollywood, following her supporting role in the critically acclaimed ‘Triangle of Sadness. In this role, she received numerous Best Supporting Actress awards and nominations. These awards and nominations included those from the National Society of Film Critics, the Golden Globe, and the BAFTA.
Meanwhile, back at home, de Leon still stars in the critically acclaimed Kapamilya suspense-thriller ‘Dirty Linen’.
