Former matinee idol Mark Anthony Fernandez has denied owning the estimated 1 kilogram of dried marijuana found by police inside his car on Monday night, October 3, in Angeles City .
“Ah hindi, hindi po ako nacheckpoint,” Mark Anthony denied getting arrested at a checkpoint in Pampanga that night.
“Bibili po ako tapos dumating po sila. ‘Di pa po ako nakakabili. Umalis po ako nung tumakbo ‘yung magbebenta sa akin,” the 37-year-old actor told reporters while he was detained at Police Station 6 on Tuesday, October 4.

Positive for Marijuana
The drug test result for Mark Anthony was already out and according to Kapuso reporter Jun Veneracion, he was tested positive for marijuana but negative for shabu.
As of this writing, Fernandez is still detained at Police Station 6.
Fernandez is the son of actress Alma Moreno with now-late action star Rudy Fernandez. Some of his most recent projects were “Juan Happy Love Story,” “Rhodora X,” “Beautiful Stranger” and the Filipino remake of the South Korean hit “Kim Sam Soon.”
