Comedian Joy Viado was pronounced dead at the Quezon City General Hospital at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday evening after suffering a heart attack.

In a text message sent by events and talent consultant Annette Lucido to ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe, she said that Viado joined her creator at 8:55 p.m. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital due to heart attack. “We are still making arrangements. Will keep you posted once everything is final,” Annette added.
A wake for Viado will be held at the Arlington Memorial Chapels Sunday afternoon according to her son Joseph Christopher to the media.
Joy has been struggling with diabetes for the past year, with complications over an insect bite almost had her right leg amputated. Transcending network borders, names from ABS-CBN, TV5 and GMA Network have donated to help her financial needs.
