At the media conference for his album Chapters on January 26, Kapuso singer Garrett Bolden expressed gratitude to GMA Network for continuously giving him projects and opportunities.
Bolden cited why he remained a Kapuso since he first appeared on the first season of GMA Network’s The Clash.
“Siyempre po, sobrang thankful ako sa GMA Network, sa Kapuso Network for giving me the opportunity and it always amazes me that since The Clash Season 1, hindi naman po ako nanalo at that time, pero up to now, I remained as a Kapuso and I’m always thankful as well.
“And I hope [that] they will continue giving me the opportunity to share [the] talent and [the] music that I have. And also on my end, I will do my best to always represent GMA as a– you know, as a good singer.”
He then talked about his hopes of doing acting projects in the future.
“Sana po, I hope, that one thing that I want to do soon as well. And gusto ko rin pong ma-try ‘yung field na ‘yan.”
He also discussed how he handles the feeling of burnout by surrounding himself with the right people.
“I surround myself with the right people. I think that’s an [important] matter for me because minsan kasi when we get surrounded or stick into like a toxic, what can you say, a draining situation, siyempre it always [nice] to reset yourself and reflect on ‘yung kung ano ba ‘yung mga gusto mong marating and ano ba ‘yung goals mo.”
In 2022, Bolden became part of the theater production of Miss Saigon Guam and portrayed the role of an American GI named John Thomas.
His album, Chapters, underscores Bolden’s journey in music and life, which includes singles such as Lilipad Na, Handa Na Maghintay, Our Love, Pwede Pa Ba, and its carrier single, the revival of Kris Lawrence’s song, Ikaw Pala.
