On January 11, actress Nadine Lustre discussed her thoughts on winning Urian Awards and Metro Manila Film Festival.
At the Thanksgiving Dinner of the MMFF2022 film Deleter, Lustre affirmed that winning awards in Urian and MMFF would be incomparable.
She then recounted her reaction when she won the Best Actress Award in MMFF Gabi ng Parangal for her performance in Deleter.
She also recalled how her co-star Jeffrey Hidalgo supported Lustre during the awards night.
Admittedly, she felt pressured by people’s expectations before receiving the award for Deleter.
“I think a bit of pressure, kasi mayroon ng expectations ‘yung mga tao. Even though ako, wala naman po ako expectations, people tell us na number one ‘yan, mananalo ‘yan ng mga awards, mananalo ‘yan ng best actress, parang mas napre-pressure ako na nag-e-expect ‘yung mga tao kaysa sa akin.”
Deleter won seven awards from MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, such as Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Actress for Nadine Lustre, and Best Picture.
The award-winning film stars Lustre with McCoy De Leon, Louise delos Reyes, and Hidalgo. Mikhail Red directed the psychological-horror film that premiered on December 25, 2022, and has been extended in cinemas nationwide.
