At a dinner interview with Nanahimik ang Gabi creatives on December 22, director Lino Cayetano proclaimed that now is the Golden Age of showbiz.
Cayetano highlighted how media companies have been churning out content recently.
“Sa akin, panahon ng resureksyon talaga. Totoo, like ito ‘yung panahon na everyone’s excited to get into showbiz, everyone’s excited to produce.
“Nakita ninyo po ‘yung line up ng ABS-CBN at GMA Network, iba na ‘yung materyal. And ‘yung Viva ata, dumoble or trumiple ‘yung prino-produce. There’s so many young directors, young actors, young writers, new producers. So I think we’re approaching the Golden Age.”
He then acknowledged the transition period brought upon by the pandemic.
“Pero sabi nila, para may bagong buhay, may kailangang mamatay. Siguro ‘yun na nga ‘yung nangyari sa atin noong pandemic, ang dami nating mga kasamahan, tayo mismo, we have very few projects. Pero siguro ito na nga ‘yun.”
Cayetano then pointed out that the pandemic presented an opportunity for the showbiz industry to go global.
“‘Yung period of resurrection. Nagculminate na lahat ng masasamang bagay noong pandemya at ngayon we have such an opportunity, not just ibalik kung nasaan tayo dati, hindi lang ‘yun, pero ang ipakita sa mundo kung ano ang kaya natin.”
