Stars Jake Cuenca, Dimples Romana, Tiffany Grey, and creatives Len Carillo and Quinn Carillo expressed gratitude for the reaction to their Metro Manila Film Festival Film on December 20.
At the premiere night of My Father, Myself, covered by LionhearTV, Cuenca cited the significance of creating similar films to their MMFF2022 entry.
“I’m just hoping na suportahan ninyo ‘yung movie kasi siyempre kapag naging successful ito, mas gagawa pa tayo ng ganitong klaseng movie. I feel like malapit na tayong maging tahimik pagdating sa art, kaya pagdating doon, we have to explore, experiment, challenge ourselves.”
Romana admitted she missed seeing a live audience reaction to their film.
“Salamat po sa pag-punta ninyo, at tsaka salamat rin sa mga reaction ninyo, nakakataba po ng puso, lalong-lalo kapag naririnig mo ‘yung live audience. Nakakamiss din pala talaga. Kasi for the longest time, we have not seen each other in months, but I’m very glad na ‘yung mga naririnig ko doon pa lang po, ramdam na ramdam na po namin ang pagmamahal ninyo.”
Grey thanked Len Carillo for the opportunity and the big break.
“First of all, I would like to thank Nanay Len [Carillo], to my manager for giving me this big opportunity as a first timer. Nahirapan talaga ako. Akala ko — ang pangit ng– wala akong masabi, thank you so much sa pag-punta. Grabe, grabe sobrang halo-halo po nararamdaman ko ngayon.”
Len Carillo relayed director Joel Lamangan’s message to the audience, thanking them for their support.
“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nagpunta ngayon, and then actually, katatawag lang ni Direk Joel. Tinatanong niya nga kung ano naging reaction ninyo. And then sabi ko nga, Direk, sobrang ang daming nagandahan sa movie, tuwang-tuwa sila.”
Quinn, who wrote the screenplay for the film, affirmed how satisfied she was with the result of ‘My Father, Myself’ during the premiere night.
“Maraming maraming salamat po sa pag punta. Ang dami palang tao, hindi ko kasi nakita kanina kasi madilim and of course, to our wonderful cast sobrang galing ninyo po. I was so happy, I was more than satisfied.”
Sean De Guzman, Jake Cuenca, Dimples Romana, and Tiffany Grey. Under the direction of Joel Lamangan with a co-production by 3:16 Media Network and Mentorque Productions, ‘My Father, Myself’ opens on December 25, Christmas Day.
