On December 17, director Adolf Alix Jr affirmed that he saw a young Rosanna Roces with the Viva artist Ayanna Misola.
At the virtual conference for Bugso, which LionhearTV covered, Alix noted the similarities between Misola and Roces.
“Si Ayanna po, po kasi parang, sabi ko nga sa kaniya, nakikita ko sa kaniya ‘yung bata si Osang, si Miss O, dahil parang wala naman po siyang inhibitions when it comes to kung sa kailangan ng eksena. So, you just have to tell her kung anong point noong eksena, bakit siya ganon. So, ‘yun hindi po ako nahirapan in terms of kung paano ipapaliwanag ‘yung mga medyo sensitive na scenes.”
He then revisited how he assessed Misola’s previous projects and performances.
“Si Ayanna po, totally wala po akong idea noong start. So what I did was just to watch and get a few clips of the things that she did para maaral ko lang po kung anong klaseng– I mean, kung ano ‘yung range niya as an actress.”
He then shared his conversation with the Viva artist about performance and willingness to learn.
“Sabi ko nga sa kaniya, noong nag-uusap kami, ayun lang naman ‘yung i-expect ko na sana she delivers, if not, a competent performance for this material kasi maganda po ‘yung material, kasi supposed to be, we had this material years ago pa ni Jerry Gracio.
“Nakikinig naman sila, which is I think important, ‘yun naman po ‘yung importante sa artista kung willing kang matuto, at willing kang mag-step up, mag-ulit-ulit ng eksena, kung feeling namin hindi pa sakto sa kailangan ng scene.”
As for their upcoming Vivamax film, Bugso stars her with Sid Lucero, and Hershie De Leon.
Under the direction of Adolf Alix Jr, Bugso streams on Vivamax Plus on December 26 and Vivamax on December 30.
