Filipino actress-comedienne Kiray Celis shared her sentiments about what happened to Jovit Baldivino, implying that being a performer is a tough job.
On December 9, via a Facebook post, Celis recalled that Baldivino was already advised not to sing, but someone made a request.
Kaya piliin natin umunawa. Piliin nating maging mabait.”
Via a Facebook post, the official statement from the family of Baldivino was publicized.
According to Jovit’s parents, Mr. Hilario ‘Larry’ and Mrs. Cristeta Baldivino, as well as her fiancée Camille Ann Miguel, the singer had been receiving hypertension maintenance medication for a week.
He was then invited to a party by a family friend from Batangas City. It was the singer’s doctor’s advice not to sing while recuperating. Knowing ‘Bundoy’ (Jovit), he gave in to the clamor of the crowd. He sang 3 signature songs, including Faithfully by Journey. He was gasping for breath on the third song.
His face was disfigured with streaming salivas after an hour of sitting. He was subsequently brought to the nearest ER at the Nazareth of Jesus Hospital, at about 10 p.m. on December 3, 2022.
CT scan showed a blood clot in the brain (a sign of an aneurysm). On December 29, Baldivino passed away.
In 2010, Baldivino was the first winner of the reality talent competition show Pilipinas Got Talent.
