Actress Angelica Panganiban gave a piece of advice to rising stars, saying that they should not take showbiz lightly.
At the Star Magical Christmas party held on Sunday, November 27, Panganiban gave a speech to the attendees after she accepted a loyalty award for her 28 years as a Star Magic artist.
She said that she owes all the artists she worked with for the award she received.
“This is so unfair. This is so unfair.
Thank you so much.
She then advised the newcomers in showbiz to continue chasing their dream.
She also said that rising actors should learn to be kind to the people they work with and should not be ‘puchu-puchu.’
Lahat ng ‘yun, magiging boss niyo one day. Maniwala kayo sa ‘kin!
“Maging mabait kayo sa lahat! Huwag kayong puchu-puchung mga artista. Huwag kayong mga charot-charot! Ayusin niyo from the beginning, at gamitin niyo ang talent ninyo.
“Good night, have fun, Merry Christmas!” she said.
Panganiban has earned recognition for her acting skills as well as her contribution to the Philippine industry.
She has won three FAMAS Awards, two Cinema One Originals Digital Film Awards, and the title of Best Comedy Actress for nine years in a row at the PMPC Star Awards and Golden Screen TV Awards.
Some of her iconic films included A Love Story (2007), Here Comes the Bride (2010), One More Try (2012), That Thing Called Tadhana (2014), The Unmarried Wife (2016), Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes (2018), Exes Baggage (2018), and Unbreakable (2019). (Additional text by Jude Cartalaba.)
