At the media conference for Us X Her, which LionhearTV covered on November 21, artist Kiko Estrada asserted that he felt like a ‘King’ working with Vivamax Queens AJ Raval and Angeli Khang.
Estrada detailed his working environment with his co-stars and their director Jules Katanyag.
“Felt like a king, I felt like a king. [Nah,] I mean they’re very kind, [very] generous with their time, and you know, in between scenes, they’re patient, especially Direk. Kasi, ang hirap ng transitions lalo na ‘yung, remember the one that had the dance.
“It was [really] off, so I really had to zone it to think that, and everyone on set helped me. Kasi parang ako lang ‘yung odd man out kasi ako lang ‘yung bago eh. So I really tried, and I hope you guys liked it.”
Khang described Estrada as a professional and a gentleman.
“Very professional, gentleman, and he knows when to connect, of course, that’s an actor’s workshop. Pero, ginagabayan ka niya per scene. And I felt na noong pagkapasok na pagkapasok sa set, talagang one big family.”
Director Katanyag further revealed that Viva head Boss Vic Del Rosario insisted on having Khang and Raval in one project.
“And when it came to the cast, I was very fortunate na si Boss Vic, insisted na kailangan daw for this project ay si Angeli at si AJ ay magsama. Na-flatter naman po ako doon.”
As for his creative process, Katanyag classified the filmmaking procedure for Us X Her as intuitive.
“Very intuitive po ‘yung proseso ko. ‘Yun nga lang ‘yung problems ko, gusto kong gumawa ng modern Sinasamba Kita and ang layo naman noong part niya sa Sinasamba kita.
“Pero, doon po ako nagsimula tapos ito ‘yung lumabas. During din siya ng pandemic, at madami siyang anxiety sa mundo, sa sarili, sa kung paano maging lalaki, at paano maging babae sa feminist–‘yun ‘yung interaction na ‘yun.”
Vivamax movie Us X Her also stars other Viva artists Bob Jbeili, Shehyee, and MJ Cayabyab. Directed by Jules Katanyag. It is currently streaming on Vivamax.
