Several celebrities and netizens got surprised by Charo Santos-Concio’s announcement that Asia’s longest-running drama anthology, Maalaala Mo Kaya, is coming to an end in December 2022.
On Monday, November 21, Santos annouced MMK’s three-part finale episode via TV Patrol, starting on Saturday, November 26.
The actress-host and Kapamilya Executive also thanked everyone who contributed to MMK’s successful 31-year run.
On Twitter, actress-TV host Maja Salvador can’t say anything but three broken heart emojis to convey her sentiment over Santos-Concio’s announcement.

Film director and producer Quark Henares also shared his reaction, tweeted his view on MMK as major thing for industry players.
“MMK is such a major thing in the industry. For an ABS director or star, entrusting you with an episode means you’ve made it. Kind of got misty-eyed watching this. Thanks Ma’am Charo and team for this Pinoy pop culture legacy.”

@SyldyV also shared sorrow about MMK’s ending.
“time to end na po ba talaga? Why end the show that gives so much inspiration and lessons for your viewers?
