In the 2 Good 2 Be True finale presser on October 25, premier loveteam Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla talked about their plans as a pair and as actors in the coming five years.
“Of course, we want to do so many roles pa. The love team Kathniel will always, always be there naman talaga. But we don’t wanna limit or box ourselves,” said Bernardo.
The actress explained that the priority is Padilla doing the roles he always envisioned playing, “Kung may gagawin pa kami in the future, nanjan ‘yan. But ‘yung important ‘yung gusto niya talagang gawin as Daniel.”
Bernardo stated that they have done many projects together. They just got lucky that the fans are always there to support them and allow them to grow individually and as a loveteam.
“Ayaw namin ilimit ‘yung isat-isa. If he wants to do this project without me, that’s okay. I won’t feel bad. And if meron ipresent samin na project na together na hindi pa namin nagawa, why not, diba?” assured the actress.
Padilla added that they want to offer different things to the fans because the repetitiveness can be dull.
“At some point, aabot din tayo na gusto rin natin gumawa ng ibang timpla e… A different taste kasi kung paulit-ulit. Nakakasawa na rin.”
He clarified, “I’m not saying nakakasawa. It’s always magical ‘pag magkasama kami pero, individually, kailangan din namin mag-grow as actors din.”
Bernardo and Padilla mentioned that as time goes by, they are being more careful and particular about the projects they accept together.
The tandem has been on the roll since 2012’s Princess and I. They have starred in Got To Believe, Pangako Sa’Yo, La Luna Sangre, The House Arrest of Us and 2 Good 2 Be True, which all received well-praises. They also lead the box-office hits She’s Dating The Gangster, Crazy Beautiful You, and Barcelona: A Love Untold.
