Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo admitted that she still gets hurt by the bashing that she receives online despite being an actress for about two decades.
In the media conference for her Kapuso series Start Up PH on October 6, Alonzo said that she still gets hurt by the words of her bashers because she is only a human.
“Siyempre hindi ako magiging hipokrita, sometimes nasasaktan ako kasi tao lang naman ako eh.
“Sometimes hindi nila naiintindihan na tao lang ‘yung sinasabihan nila ng masasamang salita, may emosyon, nasasaktan.
“Whenever that happens, I let myself get hurt kasi tao ka rin. Hindi ko pwedeng i-shake off ‘yun eh. It’s your own process, ‘yun talaga ang buhay.”
The 34-year-old actress only minds the criticisms that will help her improve herself.
“But I only pick the criticisms that I know will help me. Because there are noises na hindi mo naman kailangan sa buhay mo. You don’t want to welcome that kind of energy.
“‘Yung mga criticisms na galing sa mga taong alam kong they care about me, mga fans ko, comfortable sila to say na hindi nila nagugustuhan ‘yung mga projects ko or mga decisions ko, I know they love me and they say it in the most loving way.
“Handling bashing, ayaw mo kasing makaapekto ‘yun sa energy mo. I always like protecting my energy,” she said.
On the other hand, Alonzo said that she is happy that viewers appreciate her new Kapuso series Start Up PH.
“I’m happy na nagre-resonate siya sa Filipino audience. I’m happy na na-appreciate nila yung efforts namin. And they felt na, at least, ‘yung ibang take o twists na ibinigay namin sa karakter, nakita nila in a positive way,” she said.
