Herlene “Hipon” Budol had strong words for bullies on September 7, calling them “bobo.”
Budol’s statement during her launching as Rejuviant’s newest endorser for the products Premium Cocoberry Body Wash and Premium Cocoberry Instaglow Lotion, held at Luxent Hotel, Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
A victim of bullying herself, the Bb. Pilipinas first runner-up was baffled as to why victims needed encouragement when it was the bullies that needed “spanking.”
“Dapat hindi sa amin ‘yung kapag kakausapin kundi doon sa mga nambu-bully. Kasi kung wala sila, walang nabu-bully,” she told the press, including LionhearTV.
Budol added, “Kung p’wede lang magmura dito namura ko na sila.”
Refraining from cussing, she instead described bullies as “idiots.”
“Kasi ‘di ba? Ang bobo. Bakit ka nambu-bully? Bakit mo kailangang mang-down ng ibang tao? Siguro hindi sila love ng mama nila.”
The beauty queen speculated that these bullies grew up in a family where negative behavior was encouraged.
“Kaya sa mga magulang na narereklamo ang mga anak na nambu-bully, dapat kayo ang kauna-unahang mananaway at dumisiplina sa mga anak niyo.
“Kaya sa mga magulang na narereklamo ang mga anak na nambu-bully, dapat kayo ang kauna-unahang mananaway at dumisiplina sa mga anak niyo.”
As for her intimidators, Budol was grateful for them. She said that they molded her into what she is now.
“Actually, ngayon, nagpapasalamat na lang ako sa kanila. Kasi kung hindi dahil sa kanila siguro, hindi ako mamo-motivate na mapuntahan kung saan ako ngayon.”
She also thanked Wilbert Tolentino and Willie Revillame for inspiring her to be better.
“Kasi hindi ka mabi-build kung sino ka ngayon kung walang mga taong nakapiligid sa iyo.”
