In a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 9, Darryl Yap shared that he cut his hair short after getting noticed by Kim Atienza.
Yap said that the production crew of Maid in Malacañang also urged him to cut his hair.
Yap said, “Actually, lahat sa prod ng #MiM ay gusto na kong pagupitan; ilang beses na kong inalok ni Karla, Ruffa at Ella ahahaha! lalo na si Senator Imee R. Marcos—hanggang sa pinamukha na ni Kuya Kim Atienza na andami ko raw buhok hahahaha!”
He also thanked Diego Loyzaga for letting his hair stylist cut his hair even at midnight.
He added, “thanks Diego Loyzaga sa pagpapahiram mo kay Jess Calugay at kahit hatinggabi eh nagupitan ako hahahahah.”
Atienza then commended Yap for cutting his hair and awarded him with “Special Obedience Award.”
Atienza said, “Very good Direk Darryl Yap You followed the eternal code of ethics from the universe and beyond of our beloved Alma mother (Lily) International State College of the Philippines By the powers granted upon me by the school, I grant you a special obedience Award! Congratulations!!”
The host also joked that Yap resembles singer Darren Espanto with his new hairdo.
He joked, “(Hmmm kamukha mo si Darren Espanto ng slight in my objective scientific point of view).”
In his previous Facebook post, Atienza shared his observation about Yap who sported long hair.
“To my students in International State College of the Philippines (E-Youth Council). Many things have been said about Direk Darryl Yap. Ang scientific, empirical observation ko lang, ang dami niyang buhok. #sanaol,” Atienza said.
Yap then responded to this by saying that he has no time to cut his hair.
