It was a hot sizzling night as 46 candidates of the Miss Philippines Earth paraded in beach wear for the Swimsuit Fashion Show and Resort Wear Competition at Pontefino Hotel & Residences, Batangas City.
For five years now, the hotel has served as the venue for the pageant’s resort wear competition. Within the township of Pontefino Estate, it’s stylish architectural design and stunning outdoor poolside was a picturesque backdrop for the competition. The poolside, which features a 25-meter swimming pool and children’s wading pool, was transformed into a runway for the beauties who donned the resort wear of their choice. Aside from showcasing their sense of style, the candidates shared their environmental advocacies to the panel of judges, media and guests.
Winning the gold award for the resort wear competition was Rachelle Quiñonez of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro. Following close behind was silver medal winner Bellatrix Tan of Zamboanga City, while gaining bronze medal was Nina Sherra Tagalog of Palo, Leyte. Special awards such as the Miss Pontefino Hotel and Miss Pontefino Residences were given to Krissandra Marie Abel of Lobo, Batangas, and Imelda Schweighart, respectively. Awards were presented by Pontefino Estates Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Fely Ramos and Chief Finance Officer Edgardo Tantoco.
After the evening spectacle, everyone headed to the hotel rooms for a good night’s rest. Each room at Pontefino Hotel & Residences is well appointed and spacious, with complete amenities for a busy traveler. Guests get a stunning view of the hotel’s poolside and the San Francisco inspired townhomes of Pontefino Residences from their rooms- relaxing evening visuals and charming images to wake up to come morning.
True to their pledge of being environmental warriors, Miss Philippines Earth candidates headed out for the scheduled tree planting activity despite heavy rain the following morning. Candidates and event representatives and partners participated in planting mangroves along the Calumpang riverside for the Calumpang River Rehabilitation Project, a continuing eco project of the Batangas City ENRO, headed by Oliver Gonzales and supported by the Miss Earth Philippines Organization, in cooperation with Pontefino Estates.
“Pontefino Estates take an active role in the community through its constant support to the Miss Philippines Earth Organization and other environmental advocacies of the local government. We strive hard to contribute efficiently to the overall well-being of the community. We are very happy to work hand in hand with the local government and other organizations, such as the Metro Batangas Business Club and United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in launching projects for the protection of the environment,” said Ramos.
