In a Facebook post on Thursday, July 21, VinCentiments reacted to Joel Lamangan’s possible counterpart, Maid in Malacanang.
The VinCentiments page of Darryl Yap said they would support the planned movie of the award-winning director.
“Ibang level na si Direk! KUYOG,” Vincentiments said.
It added, “Sino ba naman si Direk Darryl kumpara kay Direk Joel Lamangan, all support po kami sa gagawin nyong pelikula! pero para talagang matapatan— dapat po panoorin nyo muna sa August 3 in cinemas worldwide.”
Lamangan previously lamabasted Yap’s Maid in Malacanang.
“Nag-uumpisa na sila. Gumawa sila ng pelikulang katar*nt*duhan, pera ng bayan yan… Anong drama yun? Drama ng pagtatakip para kaawan ng tao yung pamilyang yun. Ang tawag nga doon sa mga pumunta ng Malacañang noong panahon na yun, akyat bahay daw? Inakyat ang Malacañang, akyat bahay. Tingnan mo? Nag-uumpisa na sila,” he said.
Lamangan added that he would watch his movie and make his movie afterward to go against it.
“Manonood ako. Titingnan ko yung katar*nt*duhan ang ginagawa nila at sinasabi nila. At sasabihin ko sa mga tao na hindi totoo ang lahat ng ito at gagawa ako ng pelikula laban dito,” he added.
Maid in Malacañang will premiere on August 3.
It tells the story of the last three days of the Marcoses at the Malacañang Palace before fleeing the country.
The movie also stars Cesar Montano, Ruffa Gutierrez, Christine Reyes, Ella Cruz, and Karla Estrada. Elizabeth Oropesa, Beverly Salviejo, Kiko Estrada, and Kyle Velino are also part of the cast.
