JesCom now accepting Crypto Donations through PDAX

In a move towards further digitization, Jesuit Communications Foundation (JesCom), the media arm of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus, is now accepting cryptocurrency donations with the help of homegrown digital asset exchange PDAX.

JesCom entered into a partnership with PDAX for its ‘Donate’ service which enables non-profit
organizations to receive donations in various cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Smooth Love Potion (SLP), Dogecoin (DOGE), as well as seven other tokens, by creating a
dedicated donation website hosted by the crypto exchange.

At present, foreign donors face limitations when sending funds to Philippine-based groups due to the lack of financial services allowing direct fund transfer. Most often, these also come with
expensive fees and take a few days to process.

Through PDAX Donate, non-profit organizations, such as Jescom, now have access to an
additional global donation channel, that allows them to tap into the growing crypto community-
including the estimated 7 million-strong Filipinos, based on data from crypto company Triple A.

Donors can send directly from their crypto wallets, in real-time and at a lower cost, made possible
by the use of blockchain technology, which allows for faster and cheaper cross-border payments.

The donated funds are credited directly to the organization’s PDAX wallet and can be converted
to Philippine Peso to reduce exposure to price volatility.

Using the service, Jescom can enjoy no minimum or maintaining balance for their PDAX
accounts, which they can withdraw from at any time.

Organizations can also rest assured that their crypto donations will remain secure in their wallets
as the platform employs various security measures.

“During the pandemic, we discovered two things: millions of Filipinos are willing to help out
where they can, even during an economic crisis, and crypto is revolutionizing the way people
exchange goods and services. We’re glad that PDAX has found a way to address these two
trends with PDAX Donate,” affirmed Jesuit Communications Foundation Executive Director Fr.
Nono Alfonso.

According to Nichel Gaba, Founder, and CEO of PDAX, the new PDAX Donate service is part of the
company’s advocacy of promoting and enabling financial inclusion in the Philippines with the help of
blockchain technology.

“Over the past two years, we saw crypto drastically change the way Filipinos view and earn money. With just their smartphones, they can earn enough income to cover their basic needs and even more,” Gaba stated.

“Now with PDAX Donate, Filipinos can also use their crypto to donate to the NGOs and charities of their choice with just a click of a button. Not only does this promote financial freedom, but also bayanihan among Filipinos.”

JesCom is a non-profit media organization that produces faith-based content and distributes it
through various channels, including TV, radio, social media, and print. It was founded in 1989 with the mission of using modern communications technology to spread the Good News and promote
Gospel values.

“With our decision to accept crypto donations, we hope that more donors globally would be able
to give back to Filipino communities in need,” Fr. Alfonso added.

JesCom has stood strong for over 30 years and has produced countless hours of religious
programming, including its award-winning programs, such as "The Word Exposed" and "Kape’t Pandasal." In 2017, JesCom’s banner film Ignacio de Loyola made history as the first-ever Filipino production to win “Best Film” at the prestigious Mirabile Dictu International Film Festival at the Vatican. A box office hit in Latin America, particularly in Mexico, Ignacio also won the Audience Choice Award at the 12th Cine Con Valores Film Festival.

Licensed and regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, PDAX is a cryptocurrency exchange
that allows users to buy, sell, and trade digital assets.

Cryptocurrencies are a new and innovative way of donating that allows people to give without
having to go through a third party. With blockchain technology, crypto donations are also more
secure and transparent so donors can easily check where their donation goes.

How to donate through PDAX Donate
1. Go to https://donate.pdax.ph/jescomph.
2. Select the crypto that you wish to donate then input your pledge amount.
3. Provide your details and the purpose of your donation.
4. Scan the QR code or copy the wallet address and send it from your desired exchange or
crypto wallet to complete the transaction.
