Singer-TV host Billy Crawford has addressed the historic back-to-back airing of Tropang LOL and his former noontime show It’s Showtime.
On Saturday, July 16, Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime started airing back-to-back on TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya channels as part of TV5 and ABS-CBN Entertainment’s expanded collaboration.
In a statement, Crawford says the move is a big win for the audience.
“We do our best in our jobs para pasayahin ang audience. Audience ang panalo rito.”
He also stressed that the collaboration between TV5 and ABS-CBN is a business move that they just needed to comply with.
“Look at the end of the day, it’s a business decision. The guys up there are the one calling the shots and tayo, we do our best in our jobs…”
after former It’s Showtime Director Bobet Vidanes and other members left the show to transfer to the Tropang LOL show.
Crawford stressed that the move to air the noontime shows back-to-back was a “business decision” that he and other talents have to comply with.

Billy also added that the entertainment industry is such a small world and it’s not surprising that the former rival shows are not tandem in giving the people the noontime entertainment they truly deserve.
“Nakakalimutan ng mga tao ng mundo na iisang industriya natin at manonood talaga dito ang tina-try natin pasayahin. I know one day, it’s gonna happen somehow at nagtatagpo rin kami.”
Billy was one of the main hosts of It’s Showtime before his transfer to TV5.
He started co-hosting the Kapamilya noontime show from 2011 to 2019.
After the ABS-CBN shutdown in May 2020 which cost thousands of jobs of Kapamilya artists and employees, Billy decided to accept the offer of Brighlight Productions to headline its noontime show on TV5 Lunch out Loud together with other former Kapamilya talents and crew.
