The young Kapamilya star shed light upon the reasons behind her decision to step away from the showbiz limelight for more than a year.
Balinger, during her Magandang Buhay guesting on July 18, took the chance to explain why she took a break from showbiz for more than a year. She attended to her studies first, as doing showbiz along with school gave her a hard time, in the past few years.
“I took the time to go back to school. Ayon nga pandemic po. Ever since I had work, di ko kayang I-balance ang school at work. Kung mag-fococus ako sa isang bagay, eto na talaga, so since I managed to take a break, ayun school na talaga.”
She believed that she needed the break to better her craft and come back stronger.
“I realize that sometimes you need to take time away from doing the thing that you love, para pagbalik mo ganahan ka ulit.”
She notably appeared as one of the major supporting characters, in the hit revenge drama-themed TV series, Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin (2020), before stepping away from the limelight. The series headlined Iza calzado, Jodi Sta. Maria, Sam Milby, Maricel Soriano. She got paired with another Kapamilya star Grae Fernandez in the said series.
She took the chance of expressing her gratitude to ABS-CBN and its entertainment unit, Dreamscape Entertainment, for allowing her to come back with a great comeback project.
“I just wanna say a huge thanks to Dreamscape, because they gave me a comeback project.”
The actress did not hide her eagerness to return to acting and working again.
“Sobrang happy ako to be back, to be working again. Na-miss ko talaga umacting, to be in someone else’s shoes again. Na-miss ko ang umiyak.”
Balinger plays the character of Erika in the currently streaming iWantTFC series, Beach Bros, which also stars Kyle Echarri, Lance Carr, Brent Manalo, Sean Tristan, Raven Rigor, Chie Filomeno, and Angela Lao.
