On July 11, Nadine Lustre recalls her scary experience related to a scene in the horror movie Conjuring.
At the story conference of their upcoming movie Deleter, Lustre talked about two scary movies that impacted her after watching them. She first discussed the 2014 horror-film, It Follows.
“Ako po ‘yung pinaka may effect sa akin na movie, dalawa. ‘Yung It Follows and ‘yun po ‘yung film na tinutukoy ko kanina na parang after ko siya panoorin, lagi ako lumilingon, chine-check ko kung may sumusunod sa akin.”
She hinted at how the horror movie affected her.
“‘Yung isa rin po sa mga favorite ko na psychological horror ano siya, mayroon siyang after effect, so gusto ko ‘yung mga pelikula na after mo siya panoorin mga ilang days mo siya iisipin. After ko po panoorin ‘yung isang favorite ko na film, talagang everytime, lumilingon ako, nagche-check ako kung may tao, kasi mayroon po siyang ganon sa film.”
She then recounted watching Conjuring and seeing a priest bless them when she stepped out of the theater.
“‘Yung isa naman po, I think because there was so much hype around it, naalala ko po ‘yung pinalabas ‘yun sa sinehan, college ako, high-school ata, nasa high-school ata ako, is ‘yung Conjuring. Kasi ang ganda ng marketing nun, kasi pag labas mo ng sinehan may pari, may pari nagbabasbas sayo.”
She then narrated a scary experience similar to the cabinet scene in Conjuring.
“So aside from that whole stunt, ‘yung pelikula din po kasi na ‘yun, may eksena po na bumubukas ‘yung wardrobe, ‘yung cabinet tapos may gumaganon, may pumalakpak, kasi na-experience ko po ‘yun na after ko po panoorin ‘yung pelikula.
“I think a after a couple of days, naglilinis po ako ng kwarto ko tapos ‘yung cabinet ko bigla po siyang bumukas mag-isa. So andon lang po ako, nakataya po ako at least mga three seconds, tapos tumakbo ako sa labas. Wala namang pumalakpak. So far wala naman.”
As for their upcoming technological horror movie, Deleter stars Nadine Lustre, Louise Delos Reyes, and McCoy De Leon.
Deleter follows a story of a content moderator who suffers unexplained encounters after deleting a sensitive video of her co-worker.
As for the director, the award-winning director Mikhail Red, who worked on movies like Arisaka, Block-Z, Rekorder, and Birdshot, steers the production of Deleter.
