Did Robin Padilla violate the COMELEC ‘no photo’ rule?
Robins Padilla’s wife Mariel Rodriguez defended him on her Instagram account, claiming that what he had posted was merely a sample ballot because he, in fact, did not vote. She posted a photo of a woman’s Facebook post, showing how one can print a sample ballot from Nueva Ecija which according to the post “gagamitin sana for an infomercial ng aming Mahal na Supremo.”
On Instagram, Mariel shared a screencap of an FB post by a certain Nahda Kahbata with caption, “people should be more careful. they shouldn’t assume! IT WAS A SAMPLE BALLOT!!! we call this the Trillanes Syndrome… no evidence all talk. if anyone can prove that Robin Padilla went to a precinct, voted and took photos of his ballot I will help you convict him. I am that sure that Robin didn’t do that… why? because ROBIN PADILLA CAN NOT VOTE!!!!”
A known supporter of victorious presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte, Robin posted a collage of two photos on his Instagram feed Monday morning, one of which was a close-up of a ballot with a shaded circle beside Duterte’s name. The actor immediately deleted the post after netizens called him out.
