Kapuso artist Angel Satsumi on Wednesday, June 8, was glad that televiewers of the hit sitcom Pepito Manaloto still remember her after being out of the show for two years.
In the virtual media conference for the sitcom’s third season, Satsumi, now 16 years old, said, “Sobrang saya ko po. Kasi alam ko po na napapanuod ang original cast tapos hinahanap pa rin po ako. Feeling happy po ako na hindi pa rin nila ako nakakalimutan.”
She added, “Tapos kapag may nakikita po akong comment na hinahanap ako, sobrang happy ko po.”
The artist played the role of Clarissa, the youngest child of Pepito and Elsa Manaloto. She took a break from acting after the world’s pandemic hit in 2020.
Satsumi went back to Japan until restrictions loosened up.
Michael V, who plays Pepito, revealed that despite the child star not being physically present, she was there during the prayers for the former Pepito Manaloto director Bert de Leon.
“Sa totoo lang, si Angel, madalas naming kasama during the prayers for Direk Bert when he was in the hospital. Yung presence niya nandoon.”
When they finally saw her, all grown up, Bitoy and the other cast could not contain how happy they were.
“So when we saw her finally, eh tuwang-tuwa kami. Dahil nayayakap na namin, nahahawakan na namin ang pisngi, hahaha. Tsaka ‘yung buhok. We were a bit emotional seeing her,” he shared.
The director of Tuloy Ang Kuwento jest, “Hindi lang kami umiyak no?”
Meanwhile, Manilyn Reyes, who plays Elsa, was surprised to see Satsumi taller than she and Jake Vargas.
“Natuwa kami ni Jake pero nalungkot din kami at the same time. Ang tangkad na niya kesa sa amin!”
Vargas, as Chito, the older brother of Clarissa, even joked that the young artist would now play the older sibling instead of him.
“Parang isip-isip ko, parang ikaw na ang magiging ate ko sa Pepito.”
He added, “Na-miss ko rin talaga si Angel. Kasi na-miss ko ang kulit niya. Simula pa lang kasi noong baby pa siya, three years old palang siya talagang nasa Pepito niya. Talagang magkapatid po kami sa Pepito. Sobra po.”
The third season would also include the original cast in Ronnie Henares, Jon Feir, Chariz Solomon, Janna Dominguez, Jen Rosendahl, Art Solinap, and Mosang.
Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento will begin airing on June 11, at 6:15 p.m., only on GMA Network.
