The Kapuso primetime drama occupied the top spot for the first since its February debut, as it also logged its highest TV rating to date.
Not only did the Sanya Lopez-starrer, First Lady, post its highest TV rating to date, but it also supplanted the Kapuso primetime newscast, 24 Oras, as the most-watched TV program in the country, for the first time.
According to AGB Nielsen’s National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) people data, First Lady rated 17% on Thursday, June 2. The day earlier, the show earned a record-breaking 16.9% people rating. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, its main rival show, rated 11.3% and 11.5% on the same days, respectively. The ABS-CBN show notably set a fresh record online with 251,000 concurrent live viewers on Kapamilya Online Live, the highest for any local drama.
First Lady is the sequel of the top-rated Kapuso drama, First Yaya, which ruled the rating chart in 2021. AGB Nielsen reported that the original series rated as high as 24% in one of its episodes, making it that year’s most successful local drama. The series served as Lopez’s first starring role in a primetime drama. In the series, she played a presidential nanny who fell in love with and married her boss, the President of the Philippines, played by ‘90s matinee icon Gabby Concepcion.
First Lady returned to GMA Telebabad on February 14, 2022, with a people rating of 14.4%.
The series also stars Alice Dixson, Pancho Magno, Buboy Garovillo, Pilar Pilapil, Cassie Legaspi, Clarence Delgado, Sandy Andolong, Analyn Baro, Jerrick Dolormente, Francine Prieto, Thou Reyes, Maxine Medina, Joaquin Domagoso, Kakai Bautista, Cai Cortez, Jon Lucas, among many more others.
First Lady airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad, right after 24 Oras.
