AWARD winning trio JBK, composed of Joshua Bulot, Bryan del Rosario and Kim Ordonio, is back with a new single titled “Porket” – a Latin pop-romance inspired track.
“Porket,” a song that is relatable to everyone, tells the point of view of a loathing man after being abandoned by his lover. He recollects recent memories which should have been red flags in their relationship; going back and forth from reminiscing to blame. Stages of grief are vividly expressed as he laments denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, all directed to his ex-lover, presumed to be the listener.
The song combines the soul of OPM with Latin American tunes. This is the trio’s follow-up to their first two reggaeton singles titled “Sana Naman” released in October 2020 and “Crazy” released in April 2021 as they intend to make this genre their signature sound.
Reggaeton is JBK’s favorite as it showcases the members’ vocal bravado, and it also gives a nod to Filipino cultural roots and influences.
“We want to break new grounds in mainstream OPM, and also hopefully reach other parts of Asia and our friends in Latin America,” says JBK.
“Porket” is an original composition by JBK distributed by Warner Music Philippines. It was produced by The Sound House, lead by international producer Xerxes Bakker – who worked with Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg, and Imagine Dragon among others – and Cebu’s multi-instrumental producer Jameson Tenorio.
“Porket” is now available for download and streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and other digital platforms. The music video is now streaming on the group’s official YouTube channel.
