The movement of the two shows on the rating chart comes ahead of the new Kapamilya TV series—2 Good 2 Be True—which debuts this week on primetime.
Some interesting movements on the local TV rating chart were observed, within the week. Kapuso shows remain way ahead of their ABS-CBN and TV5 rivals, with 24 Oras and First Lady keeping their respective leads as the most-watched primetime newscast and drama series. The third slot did not have a fixed occupant as GMA Network’s False Positive and ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano took turns occupying it. The latter, however, notably has limited free TV coverage, which makes its high TV rating, commendable.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano held the third spot on Tuesday, May 10, with 11.2% people rating according to AGB Nielsen’s National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM data, while False Positive ruled May 11, Wednesday, and May 12, Thursday, with 10.9% and 9.8% people rating.
The more remarkable movements on the chart, however, came from ABS-CBN’s The Broken Marriage Vow, and the concluding series, Viral Scandal. On Thursday, May 12, the Jodi Sta. Maria-led Kapamilya drama reclaimed its spot on the top 5, with an 8.1% people rating, its highest placement on the chart and the highest TV rating, in more than two weeks.
Viral Scandal, which completed its very successful run on Friday, May 13, similarly pulled off a feat by posting its highest people rating since its debut. The series rated 5.3% on its last Thursday, which is enough to push the show’s placement to just one spot short of getting into the Top 10. The show aired for six months, which is already a milestone, given that not too many series these days stay on the air for at least 100 episodes.
Viewership of noon-time shows remains lukewarm, with GMA Network’s Eat Bulaga leading with a lukewarm average of 4% people rating. ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime and TV5’s Lunch Out Loud, take turns as the second most-watched noontime shows in the country.
