Seemed the odds favored Toni Gonzaga following the apparent win of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the next president of the Philippines.
In her Instagram story on Tuesday, May 10, Toni congratulated their ‘Ninong Bong’ after leading the presidential race with a huge margin in the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) partial and unofficial tally counts.
Gonzaga was one of the first celebrities heavily criticized via social media for her endorsement not only of Marcos Jr. but the whole UniTeam slate.
She was first ‘canceled’ after her Toni Talks interview with Marcos Jr in September 2021 which was criticized for aiding historical revisionism. The interview also painted the Marcoses as the victims of the 1986 EDSA revolution despite all the ‘established’ facts about it.
But the biggest sacrifice in her career was her eventual resignation from ABS-CBN’s reality show, Pinoy Big Brother.

Following the backlash on her controversial hosting gig at the UniTeam Proclamation rally at the Philippine Arena in February 2022, she decided to leave the show–she hosted for more than a decade.
Toni was also supposed to star in a Hollywood film with Fil-Am Hollywood actor Dante Basco to be directed by Fil-Am director Jhett Tolentino. However, it did not push through due to scheduling conflicts since she was tapped as the regular host of Marcos Jr-Duterte-Carpio campaign sorties.
Toni was replaced by KC Concepcion.
But with the presumptive win of Marcos Jr. it can be inferred that all of her career sacrifices were all worth it.
