ABS-CBN’s Lopezes and Globe’s Ayalas are joining forces to launch a new digital channel dubbed a “tradigital” entertainment channel.
ABS-CBN and Globe Digital Entertainment’s KROMA are set to launch the PIE or Pinoy Interactive Entertainment channel in May 2022, the Philippines’ first-ever real-time and multi-screen interactive channel.
In a statement, ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer of Broadcast Cory Vidanes said ABS-CBN is committed to bringing new and innovative content to as many Filipinos as possible.
“In recent years, we have been engaging audiences more through a stronger digital presence and collaboration with various groups. Our partnership with PIE is a significant step in that direction, and we’re looking forward to engaging with Kapamilyas in a whole new way.”
PIE is set to bring back the classic game show “Pera o Bayong” but on a new level.
It will feature a new interactive format and prizes given away every hour to their avid home viewers.
With its aim to reach 11 million households in the country, PIE is also expected to carry ABS-CBN’s top-caliber teleseryes, complementing their current block time agreements with TV5 and A2Z Channel 11.
PIE will be accessible via digital TV boxes in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Naga, Baguio, and nearby provinces and to more than 85 million digitally-connected Filipinos.
This new partnership is ABS-CBN’s latest move to continue serving their loyal Kapamilya viewers.
Following the denial of their ABS-CBN franchise in July 2020, ABS-CBN has forged partnerships with different media entities to continue bringing fresh Filipino content to their global audience.
