Kapuso, young artist, Saviour Ramos, on Friday, April 22, does not see anything wrong with being compared to his father, actor Wendell Ramos.
Saviour, 22, was expected to be better than his father, if not better.
“Sanay na po kasi ako. Simula noong bata ako parang kino-compare na po ako kay Papa,” he shared during the virtual media conference of his upcoming mini-series Raya Sirena.
The young artist stressed that although he followed in his father’s footsteps to enter showbiz, they have different skills from each other.
“Noong tumanda na ako, naisip ko na unique po kami in our own ways po. So hindi ko po hinahayaan na, yun nga po, sa comparing. Kasi sobrang malayo po kami sa dad ko. Mayroon pong things na mas better siya sa akin and mayroon din pong things na mas better ako sa kanya.”
In Raya Sirena, Saviour will be playing Ape, a merman. On the other hand, Wendell played a human in the 2008 fantaserye Dyesebel.
“Katulad po nito, itong sa Raya Sirena, sirena po ako and never po nagawa ni papa iyon before,” Saviour pointed out.
He added, “Sobrang happy po kaming dalawa na naging part ako dito and kasama ko pa sina Allen and si Sofia sa mga teleserye.”
The young artist also shared some tips given to him by Wendell.
“Ang lagi pong tumatak sa akin, sa tatay ko—namin, yung sinasabi sa akin is lagi ka lang maging gutom sa work. Tapos be good to people, be good to staff, to everyone.
“Tapos ano lang po talaga, kapag may role ka, aralin mo agad na ahead of time, and focus. Huwag mong hayaan ang sarili mo na mapunta sa negativity, doon ka lang sa role mo. Kapag natatakot, kinakabahan, magdasal ka.”
As an up-and-coming artist, Saviour was also willing to play any role, especially if it was a challenging one.
“Ako, actually, gusto ko po yung role na nacha-challenge ako, yung bago po sa akin. If ever man na magkaroon ako ng role, gusto ko po sana, kung hindi man drama, eh yung hindi pa napapanuod ng lahat. So, I’m willing to explore po.”
Raya Sirena also stars Kapuso loveteam Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo. It will be aired on GMA Network starting April 24, at 3:05 p.m.
