From being apolitical, Jona Viray declared her support for presidential aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo in a facebook post on Wednesday, April 13.
Viray realized that she should exercise her right to vote in the coming elections. The singer said she is proud to announce her support for Robredo, whom she described as hardworking, brave, and a person with a heart.
Viray also discussed the issues faced by the government in the past years like corruption, mismanaged funds of government officials and agencies, and others. Despite this, Viray commended Robredo to maintain a clean track record and do good work as a vice president.
She said, “Nung mga nakaraang taon sobra tayong nagagalit kapag may mga issue ng corruption, mismanage ng funds ng ilang mga government agencies and officials, injustices lalo na sa mga mahihirap, mga inactions, at walang konkrentong plano sa pagtugon sa pandemiya.
“Pero si VP Leni Robredo nagsusumigaw ang kanyang track record at presensiya (which i searched for and read). Marami siyang nagawang programs despite her office being given limited budget. Marami siyang natulungan.”
“Ito yung totoong public servant para sakin.
May diskarte, may puso… Tapat na nagsisilbi.
“Kaya sumasama ako sa ilang campaigns Willingly, Voluntarily at Walang Bayad.
Dahil naniniwala ako sa Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat,” she added.
She also showed her support to Robredo’s running mate, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, and the rest of TroPang Angat.
“God bless you VP Leni Robredo, Sen.Kiko Pangilinan , and the rest of TroPang Angat,” Viray ended.
On February 13, it was Viray’s first time to perform in a People’s Rally of Robredo and her running-mate, Pangilinan at Quezon City Memorial Circle.
Viray is among the growing number of celebrities showing support to Robredo and Pangilinan.
